In this paper, we explore the drivers of success for the Tiger Management legacy. We analyze the skill sets that set Robertson’s progeny apart from the rest. What do Cubs invest in and how has that changed? Is conviction or uniqueness good for Tiger Cubs? How do Cubs behave in the face of increasing AUM? What are they good at – picking stocks or sectors? Are they getting more or less crowded? What are their best stock picks in recent history? We present evidence for some surprising findings and draw parallels to other fields where pedigrees are important.
